Does family history stop me getting life insurance in Ireland?

No. In most cases, family history alone does not prevent you from getting life insurance. Insurers look at who was affected, their age at diagnosis, and how many close relatives were involved before making a decision.

Will I pay more if my parent had cancer or heart disease?

Not automatically. Many applicants are accepted at standard rates. A premium increase usually only applies where insurers believe the inherited risk is higher.
